She obtained her undergraduate medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand and went on to complete her postgraduate Neurology specialization at the University of Pretoria.
She qualified as a neurologist in 2011 and has since dedicated her practice to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of neurological conditions in adults. Her clinical expertise covers a wide spectrum of neurological disorders.
Dr. Townsend is a Fellow of the College of Neurologists of South Africa and an active member of both the Neurological Association of South Africa and the Medicolegal Association of South Africa.
